Job Description
• Oversee, maintain, and further develop the technical infrastructure and utility systems of a plastics processing production facility
• Ensure technical availability of utility systems such as compressed air, cooling water, HVAC, temperature control, and energy supply
• Support selection, commissioning, and integration of new machinery and production equipment
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, HSE, and external service providers
• Implement measures for energy efficiency, equipment reliability, and compliance with legal regulations (e.g., occupational safety, environmental standards)
• Create and maintain technical documentation, maintenance schedules, and equipment manuals
• Lead and support investment projects for new production machinery and automation systems, from planning through to commissioning
• Identify, plan, and implement improvements in material handling systems (e.g., conveying, drying, dosing, feeding systems) to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
• Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and procurement teams to define technical requirements for new equipment
• Coordinate external suppliers, contractors, and internal resources for successful project execution
• Optimize existing technical systems and infrastructure with a focus on reliability, energy efficiency, and integration into digital monitoring tools
• Ensure machine safety and compliance with legal and industry standards throughout project implementation
• Evaluate technical offers, conduct risk and ROI assessments for machine and system investments
• Create and maintain project documentation, equipment specifications, and technical drawings.
Job Requirement
• University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
• Professional experience in plastics processing with a strong focus on machinery and equipment
• Practical experience managing technical investment projects, ideally involving new machines and material handling systems
• Familiarity with peripheral equipment used in plastics production (e.g., dryers, conveyors, vacuum loaders, silos)
• Solid CAD skills (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and proficiency in MS Office; experience with project or maintenance tools is a plus
• Strong technical understanding, structured working style, and hands-on mentality
• Good communication skills in English.
