• Automation Project Management:
o Attend improvement meetings, work with the Operations Team to develop action plans for new automatic, and semi-automatic equipment, and scheduling needs
o Coordinate development plan and follow-up actions, including but not limited to Conceptualization, Simulation, or Prototyping
o Create collaborative project communication channels with Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, Supervision, and floor operators.
o Develop and maintain Gantt Charts, Project Schedules, Risk Assessments, and Contingency Plans
o Develop agendas to facilitate and document project meetings
o Deliver formal presentations to leadership regarding project status.
o Manage suppliers of capital equipment for turn-key applications/custom equipment. Manage cost, timing and budget of each project
• Factory Automation and Technology Development
o Have the ability to conduct research, development, and implementation of new manufacturing technologies, Robotics, or IoT platforms and capital equipment to improve current throughput, scrap/rework reduction, reduce cost, improve quality, reliability and visuality.
o Have ability to build simulations, real prototypes to confirm feasibility as well as fabrication time/cost estimates and test proposed fabrication processes
o Commit to major strategic cost, quality and delivery initiatives with aggressive focus on breakthrough process and technology improvements to achieve a substantial competitive advantage
o Conduct equipment certification and run-off, using statistical analysis tools to verify equipment, capability
o Have the capability to use CAD to design automatic equipment, integration system (to Automatic Hardware and Mechanical Design - Mechatronic Engineering)
o And/ or have the capability to use PLC, computer-based, and cellphone-based language to program automatic equipment, and integration systems (to Automatic Software and Electrics Design - Mechatronic Engineering).
o Assist with Continuous Improvement Projects in Kaizen Activities, Visual Management, OEE, etc
o Engage in automation and innovation courses through technology co-research and development as well as engineering co-test and deployment.
• Automation Design Analysis and Continuous Improvement
o Perform a wide variety of calculations and software-aided analysis
o Possess a systematic as well as creative approach to the problem-solving process
o Provide multiple what-if scenarios to find the best total cost solution
o Exhibit vision and foresight to test process extremes and build a robust risk assessment analysis matrix to ensure project success
o Understand well the financial impacts of problem and solution
