Work with suppliers to assess and improve parts, tooling, fixtures and establish capability readiness.
Support NPI and EVT-DVT-PVT (Engineering/Design/Production Validation Testing) builds via data collection and reporting, readiness review, documentation.
Originate, review and maintain technical engineering documentation.
Assist mass production quality and cost improvement activity related to fixtures and processes.
Organize, catalog and control engineering samples and prototypes.
Raise engineering parts and equipment purchase requests.
Job Requirement
To qualify, you are required to be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Industrial Engineering. Even though no previous experience is required, you may meet or have an interest in developing any one of the following qualifications:
Experience in a multi-national hands-on manufacturing environment.
Understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI) milestones and product lifecycle.
Knowledge of quality concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations.
Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and product manufacturability requirements.
Familiarity with assembly jigs, fixtures, tester adapters and other manufacturing process tools.
Interaction with experts in Product Design, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Reliability, etc.
Understanding of mechanical properties of materials as they relate to manufacturing requirements.
Project management experience and an understanding of problem-solving tools including design of experiments (DOE), root cause analysis and statistical process control principles preferred.
Knowledge of metal, plastic and hybrid parts (mechanical enclosures, frames, shafts, clutches, gears, fasteners, bearings, etc.), complex electromechanical assemblies (printed circuit boards, drive trains, electric motors, etc.) and electronic components (integrated circuits, LCD – liquid crystal displays, LED – light emitting diodes, connectors, filters, transformers, inductors, transistors, switches, etc.).
Understanding of manufacturing processes: metal conformation (die casting, pressing, welding, etc.), plastic injection molding, ultrasonic welding, SMT – surface mount technology, THT – through hole technology, soldering, conformal coating, printing, assembly, calibration, testing, packing, etc.
