JOB SUMMARY
The Country Sales Manager (Export & Long Haul) is responsible for overseeing the Sales team to achieve sales targets. This role involves building a high-performance team, developing strategies to increase market share, and maintaining strong client relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Sales Performance
- Oversee and ensure targets of the sales team are met.
- Lead and steer the sales team towards achieving sales targets by providing guidance, joining sales visits.
- Develop and implement strategies to generate new business opportunities with existing and new customers, increase market share.
- Provide all customer visits, opportunities, Sales Leads and any other customer prospective information within Sales systems.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to secure profitable deals.
- Liaise and co-ordinate with internal departments and the company’s network to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
- Support the Trade Manager in setting up weekly volume forecasts to ensure accurate planning and execution.
2. Market Intelligence & Report
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis for senior management.
- Backup for the Trade Manager in preparing market reports and conducting rate discussions with liners during their absence.
3. People and Compliance Management
- Monitor & coach the Sales team to expand their capabilities and build senior sales in the organization.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Guide, train and ensure the team’s compliance.
- Proven experience in export sales, preferably in the shipping or logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations and shipping procedures.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and develop sales strategies accordingly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Excellence in English is required. Good in Chinese is a plus.
- Willingness to travel.
- Consistently meets compliance standards.
