05 System Test

Looking for an experienced Software QC professional with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. This position is for a self-starter with strong organizational and computer science skills. Candidate must demonstrate an ability to formulate test strategies and plans for complex and challenging projects with limited direction.

Responsibilities

• Work with software developers to ensure the applications meet technical requirements and customer expectations.
• Develop and execute testing plans and strategies based on requirements and stated timelines.
• Create and execute manual testcases from requirements and turnover information provided by development.
• Verify test case coverage from requirement and turnover documentation.
• Create and track software defect records in tracking system.
• Organize and prioritize testing tasks as needed to meet project deadlines

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 years experience in software quality assurance required.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux platforms required.
• Hands on experience with White Box, Grey Box and Black Box testing.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
• Experience with relational database concepts and SQL queries required.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. Perl, Python, Ruby, shell script)
• Detail oriented, problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills are required.
• Able to work independently with effective time management in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
• Ability to multitask within an environment of rapidly changing priorities.
• Proactively solve problems and work effectively in a team environment.

Desirable Skills

• BS degree in Computer Science or related engineering field is a plus.
• Experience with analysis and support of production/live systems a plus.
• Proficient in one or more programming languages (e.g. C++, Java, Perl, VB)
• Ability to automate test routines using scripts
• Must be willing to work occasional extended/flexible hours.
• Experience with Load, Stress and Performance testing.
