2. Key Responsibilities:
a. Technical Methodology Design:
• Lead the design and standardization of methodologies for Future Cash Flows, Risk Adjustment, Discount Curves, and Illiquidity Premium determination under IFRS 17 frameworks.
• Develop and establish level of aggregation criteria, including grouping rules for profitable and onerous contracts (Onerous Contracts testing).
• Define criteria and execute eligibility tests for the Variable Fee Approach (VFA) on participating and investment-linked products, as well as the Premium Allocation Approach (PAA).
b. Actuarial Modelling & Prophet Enhancement:
• Collaborate with IT and solution vendors to enhance existing actuarial models (specifically the Prophet Professional Liability model) to support CSM, Loss Component calculations, and tracking of estimate changes.
• Design the IFRS 17 calculation engine tailored for long-term contracts and reinsurance treaties.
c. Transition Strategy:
• Assess and recommend optimal transition approaches (Full Retrospective, Modified Retrospective, or Fair Value Approach) for each group of insurance contracts.
d. Governance & Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Act as the primary technical point of contact with external consultants and auditors regarding actuarial assumptions and results.
• Provide comprehensive training and technical knowledge transfer on IFRS 17 to internal actuarial teams and related business units (Finance, Risk).
