The Role
We’re looking for an Embedded Linux & Robotics Developer to build the core systems that control and automate our delivery drones. You’ll focus on embedded software across bare-metal microcontrollers and embedded Linux platforms, working on everything from low-level motor and sensor drivers to real-time control and system orchestration. Your code will directly power the flight behavior, navigation, and decision-making of our drones. Expect to work closely with hardware, autonomy, and AI teams to develop tightly integrated, high-reliability systems built for the real world.
What You’ll Do
• Develop and maintain real-time embedded software for flight control, navigation, and sensor interfacing
• Design robust communication protocols and fault-tolerant control loops for autonomous systems
• Implement motion planning and decision-making logic for aerial robotics (e.g., obstacle avoidance, path planning)
• Work on low-level board bring-up for custom electronics platforms—ranging from bare-metal MCU development (Teensy-class boards) to embedded Linux platforms
• Collaborate with AI, perception, and hardware teams to tightly integrate control software with high-level autonomy and system hardware
• Profile and optimize real-time code for reliability and performance in resource-constrained environments
Why You'll Love Working Here
• Comfortable working close to hardware: device drivers, DMA, SPI/I2C/UART, PWM, etc.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems and performance-critical code
• Experience developing on embedded Linux systems (e.g., Yocto, Buildroot, custom kernels)
• Familiarity with bare-metal and RTOS-based microcontroller environments
• Passionate about autonomous systems, robotics, and solving complex, real-world problems
• Bonus: experience with robotics motion planning, state estimation, or flight dynamics
