Job Purpose:
Hardware Engineer - High Power Electronics is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and validating high-power electronic hardware solutions for industrial and commercial applications. The role involves schematic design, power stage development, PCB layout review, prototype validation, EMI/EMC optimization, thermal analysis, and product certification support throughout the product development lifecycle.
Job Duties:
I. Hardware Design
1. Design high-power analog and digital electronic circuits (>1KW).
2. Develop AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC power conversion circuits.
3. Perform component selection considering efficiency, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
4. Create complete hardware architecture for new products.
II. Perform Circuit Simulation & Analysis
III. PCB Development
5. Review multi-layer PCB layout for high-current and high-voltage applications
6. Ensure proper creepage and clearance distances
7. Optimize power routing, grounding, and signal integrity
8. Collaborate with PCB designers to improve EMI performance
9. Prototype Development: Build and debug engineering prototypes; Perform bring-up and functional verification; Identify hardware issues and implement corrective actions; Support design verification testing (DVT)
10. Testing & Validation: Conduct electrical safety testing; Perform efficiency measurements; Validate thermal performance; Execute reliability and endurance testing; Conduct fault analysis and root cause investigation.
11. Generate related documents for manufacturing
12. Create schematic and guide PCB designers considering the EMC, safety aspects and thermal aspects
13. Other assigned tasks assigned by Direct supervision
