A. PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
B. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Incoming Material Quality Control
- Supervise incoming inspection of electronic components, PCB, mechanical parts, cable assemblies, and packaging materials.
- Ensure all materials comply with BOM specifications, drawings, datasheets, and customer requirements.
- Verify inspection methods such as:
+ Visual inspection
+ Dimension measurement
+ Component verification
+ Functional checks when required.
- Ensure proper sampling plans (AQL) and inspection standards are applied.
2. Non-Conforming Material Control
- Identify and control incoming defective materials.
- Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) when necessary.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Supplier Quality for disposition decisions:
+ Return to Supplier
+ Rework
+ Use-as-is approval
- Ensure nonconforming materials are properly segregated and controlled.
3. Supplier Quality Management Support
- Monitor supplier defect trends and report to management.
- Support supplier improvement activities when recurring issues occur.
4. Process Control & Compliance
- Ensure IQC processes comply with:
+ ISO 9001/ISO 13485/AS9100
+ IPC standards
+ Customer quality requirements
- Maintain proper documentation including:
+ Incoming inspection Reports
+ NCR records
+ Material acceptance records
- Support internal, external, and customer audits.
5.Team Leadership
- Supervise and manage IQC inspectors and technicians.
- Provide training on:
+ Inspection methods
+ ESD control
+ Component handling
+ quality procedures
- Monitor team performance and improve productivity.
6. First Article Inspection (FAI / FAIR)
- Ensure First Article Inspection (FAI) is planned, executed, and approved prior to part release.
- Review and approve First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) to verify compliance with:
+ Customer drawings
+ Specifications
+ BOM
+ Assembly drawings
+ Critical dimensions and characteristics
- Ensure ballooned drawings and full traceability between drawing requirements and inspection results.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality to resolve any PART FAIR discrepancies.
- Ensure FAIR approval is completed prior to pilot build exit or mass production release.
- Maintain FAIR documentation as part of Device History Record (DHR) or product quality records.
