What You’ll Do
Depending on assigned projects and customer environments, a Software Engineer I may work primarily in either development-focused projects or production support-focused projects.
Development Projects
• Understand assigned product requirements, technical designs, functional specifications, defect descriptions, and related project documents.
• Implement new features, integrations, enhancements, and bug fixes through coding, debugging, and unit testing.
• Maintain and update technical or project-related documentation when needed.
Production Support Projects
• Understand assigned production issues.
• Reproduce issues, investigate root causes, and discuss solutions with leads or managers.
• Perform issue fixes, configuration updates, or data-related support tasks based on project needs.
• Update issue status and related information in tracking systems.
• Maintain related technical or issue documentation when needed.
Working Expectations
• Follow project processes, coding standards, security requirements, and company procedures consistently.
• Handle assigned tasks with guidance while building increasing independence over time.
• Support project-related activities assigned by leads or managers when needed.
• Participate in training or learning activities assigned by the company.
• Support other project-related tasks or activities assigned by leads or managers when needed.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields is preferred.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Hands-on experience in Java development, with solid knowledge of Java Core.
• Ability to write, understand, and troubleshoot SQL queries in relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar.
• Strong sense of ownership, teamwork, adaptability, and continuous learning.
• Ability to work effectively in a global and cross-timezone project environment.
• English proficiency equivalent to TOEIC 400 or above in all four skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Nice-to-Have
• Experience in web development or UI-related work.
• Experience in enterprise application development or retail-related systems.
• Experience working with onshore, remote, or customer-facing teams.
• Experience with reporting or data visualization tools is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms or cloud-based environments is a plus.
• Relevant technical certifications are a plus.
