Position Overview

You will be a dedicated drafter for an international client that builds industrial refrigeration systems: chillers, skid packages, and ice rink floors. You turn engineers' designs into complete, build-ready drawing sets used directly by welders and installers. This is a drafting role; engineering calculations are done by the client’s engineers, and every drawing is reviewed before release. 

Responsibilities

• Build 3D parts and assemblies in Autodesk Inventor and produce 2D manufacturing drawings (assemblies, parts, piping, wiring), exported as PDF sets. 

• Prepare 2D AutoCAD layout drawings: permit sets, main sets and revisions. 

• Create bills of material (BOM), quantity takeoffs and packing lists in Excel that match the drawings. 

• Over time, support job packages, submittals, O&M manuals, and closeout documents. 

• Keep files, naming and revision history organised, and flag missing inputs or conflicts early in writing. 

Other requirements: Other tasks assigned by the Board of Director (if any).

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical or industrial drafting. 

• Good English for written handoffs and regular online calls with overseas engineers. 

• Autodesk Inventor at expert level (required): parts, large assemblies and drawing views from the model. SolidWorks/Solid Edge alone is not enough. 

• AutoCAD 2D, proficient (required). 

•  Able to read P&IDs and piping drawings (required) and build a piping layout from them. 

• Solid mechanical drafting practice: dimensions, tolerances, weld symbols, parts lists. 

• Working knowledge of electrical/wiring diagrams and Excel BOMs. 

• A portfolio of your own drawings (work under NDA can be replaced by a sample test). 

• Precise, process-driven, accepts review feedback well, and willing to work the afternoon–evening shift. 

• Preferred: refrigeration, HVAC, process piping or skid fabrication background; US/inch drawing standards (ASME, AWS weld symbols); Inventor Tube & Pipe or Frame Generator; Vault; iLogic or AI drafting tools.
