Position Summary

The Mechanical Design & Estimating Engineer is responsible for preparing quotations, sales orders, BOMs, concept drawings, production drawings, and engineering documentation for custom projects and standard machine builds.

This role supports both engineering and sales support activities by providing accurate quotations, efficient design solutions, and high-quality manufacturing documentation.

The position serves as a key link between customer requirements, engineering design.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Commercial Engineering

• Prepare customer quotations and generate and maintain sales orders.
• Create preliminary BOMs for quotation purposes.
• Ensure quotation accuracy and timely delivery.

Mechanical Design

• Develop concept drawings based on customer requirements.
• Modify existing machine designs.
• Support custom project design activities.
• Create and update 3D models and assemblies in Solid Edge.

Manufacturing Documentation

• Prepare detailed production and manufacturing drawings.
• Create and maintain BOMs.
• Ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.

Product Rendering & Sales Support

• Create product renderings and visual presentations.
• Support sales and marketing teams with engineering visuals.
• Assist with proposal presentations and customer-facing materials.

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Mechatronics, or related field.

Experience

• 2–5 years of mechanical design experience preferred.
• Experience preparing manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
• Experience in industrial equipment, machinery, automation, or material handling equipment is preferred.
• Fresh candidates with strong 3D CAD modeling skills may be considered.

Technical Skills

• 3D &2D CAD proficiency.
• Strong mechanical drafting and detailing skills.
• Understanding of fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly processes.
• BOM creation and revision control experience.
• Basic cost estimation and quotation understanding.
• Microsoft Excel proficiency.
