Job Purpose

The MEP Operations Technician at Uppingham School plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient daily operation of the school’s building systems and physical infrastructure. This role provides high-quality technical and facility support to expatriate faculty, staff, and students. The ideal candidate will be the "go-to" expert for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, HVAC, and general building maintenance, ensuring a seamless and comfortable learning and working environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. MEP Systems Operation & Maintenance / Vận hành & Bảo trì Hệ thống MEP

• Act as the primary technical support for all MEP systems, including HVAC (Chillers, VRV/VRF, Heat Pumps), electrical distribution (generators, transformers, grounding systems adhering to standards like TCVN 9385:2012), and plumbing networks. • Perform daily inspections, monitor equipment logs, and execute preventive/corrective maintenance schedules for all building systems. (Thực hiện kiểm tra hàng ngày, theo dõi nhật ký hoạt động...)
• Troubleshoot electrical faults, HVAC inefficiencies, mechanical failures, and automation control discrepancies promptly. (Xử lý kịp thời các sự cố về điện, HVAC...)

2. Building Management & Infrastructure Systems / Quản lý Tòa nhà & Hệ thống Hạ tầng

• Monitor and operate the Building Management System (BMS) to optimize energy consumption and maintain optimal ambient conditions in classrooms and facilities. (Giám sát và vận hành Hệ thống Quản lý Tòa nhà (BMS)...)
• Coordinate with the IT and Security teams to ensure uninterrupted power supply and physical infrastructure support for CCTV, Access Control, and campus gates. (Phối hợp với đội ngũ IT và An ninh để đảm bảo nguồn điện...)
• Supervise and coordinate with external vendors and contractors for major system upgrades, complex repairs, or specialized equipment servicing. (Giám sát và phối hợp với các nhà cung cấp...)

3. General Technical Support & Customer Service / Hỗ trợ Kỹ thuật chung & Dịch vụ Khách hàng

• Respond to facility helpdesk tickets, emails, and maintenance requests in a timely, professional, and friendly manner. (Phản hồi các yêu cầu hỗ trợ (ticket), email...)
• Set up and manage physical infrastructure and temporary power/lighting for school events, assemblies, and outdoor activities to ensure zero disruption. (Thiết lập và quản lý hạ tầng vật chất, hệ thống điện/chiếu sáng tạm thời...)
• Document technical procedures, maintain maintenance logs, and keep an accurate inventory of tools, spare parts, and MEP assets. (Ghi chép các quy trình kỹ thuật, duy trì nhật ký bảo trì...)

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree, College Diploma, or Vocational Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.
• Experience: Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in facility management, building operations, or MEP maintenance. Prior experience working in an International School, 5-star hospitality, or a multi-national corporate environment is highly preferred.
• Language Skills: Basic English Proficiency.
• Technical Skills: Strong practical expertise in maintaining HVAC systems, electrical panels, backup generators, and water supply systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and MEP blueprints. Hands-on experience with power tools, electrical testing equipment, and strict adherence to occupational health and safety standards (HSE).
• Soft Skills: Patient, understanding, responsive, and solution-oriented mindset (Customer service). Excellent problem-solving skills, able to work efficiently under pressure and handle emergencies during peak hours.
