MEP Quantity Measurement & Cost Estimation

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of and practical application of the Standard Method of Measurement (SMM) in daily work.
• Maintain a high standard of accuracy in describing, measuring and checking quantities for structural and finishing trades.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of MEP trade rates.
• Accurately build up unit rates for MEP trades.
• Carry out quantity take-offs for MEP works in accordance with the SMM.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ), Cost Estimates, Cost Plans and Contract Packages.
• Prepare Pre-Tender Estimates.

Design & Pricing Coordination

• Review design information to determine whether it is sufficient for BQ measurement.
• Liaise with Design Consultants regarding design-related queries and clarifications.
• Raise clear and well-informed queries regarding outstanding design information and discrepancies.
• Liaise with local and international vendors to obtain pricing and propose the finishes schedule.

Cost & Project Support

• Manage cost databases and other operational databases.
• Assist the MEP Senior QS in preparing financial reports, statements and related documents.
• Assist in the preparation and completion of Tender Documents.
• Attend project meetings, take notes and prepare Minutes of Meeting (MoM) when required.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–4 years of experience in MEP Quantity Surveying.
• Good knowledge of and relevant experience in the construction market.
• Proven experience in quantity measurement, quantity take-off, and unit rate assessment.
