NPD Engineer

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Design & Modeling:

1. Develop detailed 3D models based on customer-provided 2D drawings, sketches, or specifications using CAD software (NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).

2. Review technical drawings to ensure feasibility for CNC machining and HPDC processes (Design for Manufacturing - DFM).

B. Jig, Fixture & Packaging Design:

1. Design mechanical parts, machining fixtures, and inspection jigs to support the manufacturing process.

2. Design preliminary packaging concepts and establish transportation standards to ensure product safety and quality during logistics.

C. Costing & Quotation:

1. Create and manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) for new products.

2. Calculate detailed process costs (including raw materials, cycle times for casting/machining, and surface treatment).

3. Prepare quotations for customers and coordinate with the Sales team.

4. Analyze production methods to optimize expenses and propose cost-reduction solutions.

D. Documentation (Quality Management System):

1. Prepare and maintain technical documentation in compliance with IATF 16949 / ISO standards.

2. Responsible for the full set of development documents: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, PFD (Process Flow Diagram), Control Plan (CP), and OPL (One Point Lesson).

E. Sample Development

1. Coordinate with the Tooling, Production, and QC departments to develop mock-up samples and prototypes.

2. Monitor trial runs, identify technical issues, and implement corrective actions before mass production hand-over.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

(I) Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

(II) Work Experience

· Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Strong background in CNC Machining and High-Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) is highly preferred.

(III) Knowledge & Skills:

· Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MasterCAM).

· Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering drawing standards.

· Familiarity with Quality Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).

(IV) Personal Attributes:

· Logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.

(V) Language

· Good command of technical English (reading drawings/standards and basic communication).
