* JOB DESCRIPTION

• Provide technical support throughout the automotive Industrial paint process.
• Identify, analyze, and solve manufacturing process issues and equipment-related problems to continuously improve key business metrics
• Scope, order, and assure proper implementation of new processes & equipment with Manufacturing Engineering manager and Manufacturing Supervisor.
• Quote, develop processing standards, and assist in new product launches
• Provide technical support to technicians and work teams and serve as technical resource for the paint department
• Direct cross-functional paint process improvement projects with the assistance of operations, maintenance, and controls team members
• Provide a critical link between the paint department and other process partners in areas such as product design, assembly, maintenance, safety, quality, etc
• Create work instructions for specific products and processes as assigned in coordination with Manufacturing Engineering manager and Manufacturing Supervisor.
• Identify and troubleshoot process, material or equipment problems, recommend solutions to minimize downtime.
• Evaluate the entire process flow - part presentation, tooling/equipment needs, manpower assignments, work processes – create and present workflow designs to improve manufacturing operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering or a related field desired. Equivalent education and experience required.
• Industrial automotive paint experience required.
• Understanding of manual spray guns and application required.
• Spray robotics experience preferred.
• Use of paint quality tools required.
• Understanding of industrial conveyors and paint booths required.
• Strong knowledge of lean principles and the ability to apply them in order to establish and/or improve processes.
• Understanding of visual paint inspection methods.
