PCB Designer

The job description of a PCB Designer typically includes the following responsibilities and qualifications:

• Design and layout of printed circuit boards: PCB Designers are responsible for creating and optimizing PCB layouts, ensuring they meet technical specifications and industry standards.
• Collaboration with engineers: They work closely with engineers to translate circuit schematics into physical designs, considering factors like signal integrity, thermal management, and manufacturability.
• Documentation and validation: Generating design and fabrication documentation, performing PCB design checking and validation, and maintaining design libraries are key tasks.
• Technical support: Providing technical support for manufacturing processes and participating in design reviews to improve product quality.

** Basic Requirements

1. Coordinate with Hardware and Mechanical teams to understand schematics, enclosure, and thermal concepts, then implement PCB layout per customer specifications.

2. Create and manage component libraries (schematic symbols, footprints, 3D models).

3. Knowledge of power circuits: LDO, AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC.

4. Knowledge of basic electronic components.

5. Ability to prepare PCB manufacturing and PCBA files (Gerber, Assemby drawings, PCB panel, etc.)

** Advanced Requirements (Plus)

1. Knowledge of rigid PCB materials and stack-up.

2. Familiarity with safety, EMI/EMC and IPC standards in PCB design.

3. Understanding of DFMEA.

4. Experience with PCB layout for EV charger and inverter.

5. Proficient in Pulsonix.
