Production Engineer

Job Summary:

Production Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by developing, maintaining, and improving production processes to achieve quality, productivity, cost, and delivery targets. The role focuses on process monitoring, technical problem-solving, yield improvement, and continuous improvement activities to ensure stable and efficient manufacturing performance.

The position reports to the Supervisor, Operations Engineering and works closely with Production, Quality to support daily operations and engineering projects.

Essential Functions:

• Monitor directly and maintain manufacturing processes to ensure stable production performance and product quality.
•  Analyze process issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize defects and production downtime.
• Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, productivity, cycle time, and manufacturing efficiency in production
• Develop, update, and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and engineering standards.
• Collect, analyze, and report process performance data to support decision-making and improvement activities to report for Supervisor, Operations Engineering 
• Monitor directly the transfer plan for new product introduction (NPI), engineering changes, process validation, and production transfer activities
• Collaborate with Production and Quality to resolve technical issues and improve operational performance.
• Train operators to improve assembly skills, inspection methods, or repair methods

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

•  Knowledge of manufacturing processes, process control principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Intermediate problem-solving and root cause analysis skills in the manufacturing factory
• Ability to read drawings, component assembly skills and analyze production data and have experience to provide effective technical solutions in the manufacturing factory
• Teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and report skills to managers
•  Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of optical manufacturing processes, precision assembly, inspection systems, or automation equipment is an advantage.

Education and work experience required:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related role. Special case, fresh graduates with a passion for and prior knowledge of optics & assembly an advantage.
• Experience in manufacturing environments with exposure to process improvement, quality control, or production support activities.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in manufacturing operations is preferred.
• Experience in optical manufacturing, lens processing, precision components, or high-volume production environments is an advantage.
