Production Manager

1. Production Manager is responsible for planning, directing, communicating across all departments and controlling the activities to achieve targets for quantity, quality, productivity and on time delivery with minimum production costs, by developing and implementing plans to efficiently use materials, labor and equipment to meet factory targets and to satisfy customer requirements.
2. Must be frequently available on shop floor with effectively supervise staff and monitor product quality, verify staff activities and their adherence to the defined procedures and instructions.
3. Periodically, supervise and train staff on following WI, procedures, GMP, food safety, mitigating foreign object, energy & water conservation, use of new equipment or all other routine and non-routine production related activities.
4. Plan and manage departmental budget with routine monitoring on expenses to control production costs.
5. Develop and execute production schedules as agreed with Sales Support and Purchasing departments to ensure optimum costing of products by maximum utilization of resources and reducing waste.
6. Should be able to independently plan production in both factories and be available as back-up for planning and train others.
7. Collaborate with cross functional teams like maintenance, QC, QA, warehouse, InC, product construction, sales support, sourcing, accounts, HR and administration for production related activities and ability to brainstorm for a balanced decision and improvement by prioritizing the interests of factory.
8. Develop trial schedules as agreed with InC and have active participation in trials and responsible for finished/ semi-finished products. Reporting about the trials and share observations with respective superiors.
9. Analyze overall effectiveness of machine/ equipment performance, work methods, procedures, instructions etc. and support to plan and implement changes accordingly.
10. Excellent communication skills and good experience in documentation like standard procedures (SOP), work instructions (WI) with good analytical ability to understand and maintain confidentiality. Hands on experience to read, interpret and analyze SCADA.
11. Prepare and share daily, weekly, monthly production reports and other reporting information and material as required by superiors and members’ council.
12. Good ability for problem solving, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, traceability. Ability to develop new ideas, define priorities and immediate actions for the short and long terms for improvement and sustenance.
13. Follow and implement statutory regulations and company procedures on labor law, safety, quality system, and food safety standards. Responsible for maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Hygiene Practices (GHP), 5S, safety, health and environment.
14. Implement procedures based on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), ISO 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 in production department.

     15. Set department KPIs for staff in line with company objectives to ensure customer requirements are met by constant reviewing and tracking of their KPIs and on-site performance. Initiate corrections as and when required.

·       Diploma/ Bachelor in food science / processing / technology / mechanical engineering with working experience in Food processing industry.

·       Have knowledge and experience in ISO 9001, HACCP and ISO 22000.
