Ruby Junior Developer

JOB BRIEF

• Citics is established with the mission to apply data technology to power trustworthy, speedy and seamless real estate transactions in Vietnam
• Citics is a technology platform which provides different stakeholders in real estate-banking ecosystem (i.e. buyers, sellers, banks, sales agents) with real-time, transparent, reliable information for them to transact more effectively and efficiently. C-Value is the first tech-based service offered by Citics and is gaining popularity in Vietnam banking system. It helps Citics to become a pioneer in property valuation with big data analysis. Citics also plans to leverage our proprietary database to provide tech-based brokerage services in Vietnam in the immediate future.
• Since our inception, Citics has gained significant tractions where our service is used by 5 different major banks and the number is growing, and our brokerage business already closed significant revenue. Citics has already finished its seed funding round with the participation of an international VC and several entrepreneurs/angels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY

• Designing and developing new web applications and Restful APIs.
• Maintaining and troubleshooting existing web applications.
• Writing and maintaining reliable Ruby code.
• Integrating data storage solutions.
• Creating back-end components.
• Identifying and fixing bottlenecks and bugs.
• Integrating user-facing elements
• Connecting applications with additional web servers.

• Proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails: Strong understanding of the Ruby programming language and the Rails framework.
• Database Knowledge: Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORMs.
• Web Development Fundamentals: Knowledge of HTTP, RESTful APIs, and web application architecture.
• Testing and Debugging: Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., RSpec, Cucumber) and debugging tools.
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git and version control systems.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with developers, designers, and other stakeholders.
• Experience with Redis, Solr
• Experience with GIS, PostGIS is a plus
• Experience with other technologies: Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Vue), Docker, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) can be a plus.
