The Data Analyst – Sales Operations serves as the analytical backbone of the OBL Commercial Team. This role is responsible for eliminating manual data-processing tasks, automating recurring reports, and generating strategic market and business insights that enable management to focus on decision-making, cross-functional leadership, and growth strategy.
1. Reporting & Automation
Build and maintain automated sales performance dashboards (Power BI/Excel) covering order volume, delivery timeliness, revenue, and forecast accuracy, reducing manual reporting efforts for the Commercial Team.
Develop weekly and monthly KPI reports by consolidating data from SAP, CRM, and logistics systems into a single source of truth.
Automate repetitive reporting activities currently handled by the S&OP team, including shipment status summaries and AR tracking/reconciliation, allowing the team to focus on order coordination.
Create real-time order tracking dashboards linked to production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
Establish automated alerts and triggers for orders, sales performance, and selling prices to support weekly audits and ensure accurate, complete data entry.
2. Sales Team & Customer Support
Analyze historical order data and seasonal trends to develop and continuously improve sales forecasting models.
Support the Commercial Team’s planning cycle and safety stock modeling across the OBL business.
Monitor forecast-versus-actual variances, provide early risk warnings to management, and conduct root-cause analysis.
Provide data inputs and scenario modeling for capacity planning discussions between the Commercial Team and Supply Chain/Production functions.
3. Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights
Research and synthesize market trends, competitor activities, and customer segment performance to support strategic planning.
Monitor pricing trends, demand signals, and regulatory developments in key export markets, particularly within the coconut and FMCG sectors.
Prepare market intelligence reports and data-driven recommendations for leadership presentations and strategic decision-making.
Identify growth opportunities and risk patterns through analysis of customer purchasing behavior, market penetration, and regional order frequency.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Maintain data quality and consistency across SAP, CRM, and Excel-based systems while establishing data governance standards for the S&OP team.
Collaborate with IT, Systems, and Power BI teams to enhance reporting capabilities and integrate additional data sources.
Work closely with Finance and Accounting teams to reconcile revenue, P&L, and business performance data.
5. Data Modeling & What-If Analysis
Design, build, and standardize end-to-end data pipelines using Power Query and develop Star Schema data models (Fact and Dimension tables).
Respond to ad-hoc data requests from management for presentations, customer negotiations, and executive meetings.
Conduct deep-dive analyses on specific markets, product categories, or customer accounts to support strategic decision-making.
Prepare data packages and visual summaries for leadership reporting and cross-functional business reviews.
6. Distributor Performance Management
Monitor distributor sales performance, market coverage, and execution KPIs.
Analyze distributor sales data to identify growth opportunities and performance improvement initiatives.
Develop distributor scorecards and support monthly business review processes.
Track sales targets, inventory levels, stock aging, and sell-out performance.
Deliver data-driven insights to identify underperforming distributors and support corrective action planning by the Commercial Team.
