JOB SUMMARY:
The Sheetmetal Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily Sheetmetal fabrication activities including cutting, bending, forming, welding, and assembly processes. The position ensures that production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are met while maintaining efficient use of manpower, machines, and materials.
ESSENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and assign daily work to operators and technicians based on the production schedule.
- Supervise sheetmetal operators including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
- Monitor work progress to ensure on time delivery and compliance with quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Engineering and Production Planning Departments to clarify technical drawings and requirements.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of machines, tools, and equipment.
- Train and guide operators to follow work instructions and standard procedures.
- Maintain 5S and safety compliance in the working area.
- Identify and solve production problems, and report to the Production Supervisor or Manager when necessary.
- Support continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives in the sheetmetal shop.
- Other duties as required.
- Strong knowledge of sheetmetal fabrication processes and machine operations (shearing, bending, punching, welding, assembly).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities under production pressure.
- Good communication and coordination skills with other departments.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and production tracking.
- Understanding of safety standards and lean manufacturing practices.
- University or college diploma.
- Certified in sheetmetal or welding is an advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality systems is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sheetmetal fabrication or related manufacturing fields.
- At least 2 years in supervisory or team leader position.
- Experience in managing production teams and solving on – site technical issues.
