Structural Engineer

Design structural analyses such as: Inplace analysis, dynamic analysis, fatigue analysis, ship impact analysis, load out analysis, transporation analyis, upending analysis, lifting analysis, launching analysis, matching analysis, etc. using specialized software such as SACS, ANSYSS etc.

Prepare related drawings from detailed design to construction design drawings (shop drawings).

Provide technical criteria for steel structures etc.

Issue the necessary material take-off for the project (MTO).

Break down the structural scope of work.

Perform author supervision at the construction site.

Resolve arising issues, perform site drawings (As-built drawings).

Interdisciplinary coordination: Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, control & process engineers to ensure the project is executed smoothly.

Work with clients & suppliers: Communicate with clients, equipment suppliers, and contractors to ensure design and operating requirements are met.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Construction Engineering (preference for offshore structures; graduates from University of Civil Engineering, University of Technology).

Experience: At least 3 years of working experience in engineering design, fabrication, and installation/construction of oil & gas structures. For fresh graduates: required to graduate with Good classification or above, and structural mechanics subjects must not be lower than Good level.

Professional skills:

• Proficient in software: structural (SACS, SAP, Ansys etc.), graphics (AutoCAD 2D, 3D), Navisworks, etc.

• Knowledge of detailed design methods; design for fabrication, transportation, and installation of offshore structures.

• Solid understanding of structural mechanics theory.

• Familiar with industry standards such as AISC, API, DNV, ASME etc.

• English: Good listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, equivalent to TOEIC 600+ points.

Soft skills:

• Good analytical and problem-solving ability.

• Effective communication and report-writing skills.

• Ability to work in a team and manage multiple projects at the same time.
