1. Design Leadership & Governance
Lead, mentor, and develop the internal design team, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Establish and enforce design governance frameworks, standards, guidelines, and approval processes across all projects.
Ensure design consistency and alignment with corporate brand, product positioning, and development strategy.
2. End-to-End Design Management
Oversee all design phases from concept, schematic design, design development, construction documentation through to completion and post-handover support.
Ensure all designs comply with local regulations, codes, standards, ESG requirements, and approved project objectives.
Manage design risks, value engineering initiatives, and constructability reviews to optimize project outcomes.
3. Strategic Design Development
Lead the development and implementation of innovative and market-leading design concepts for:
High-end residential towers and complexes
Mixed-use developments
Shopping malls, hotels, and resorts
Balance aesthetics, functionality, customer experience, cost efficiency, and long-term asset value.
4. Stakeholder & Consultant Management
Act as the primary design authority in coordinating with:
International and local design consultants
Engineers and specialist consultants
Contractors and construction managers
Internal departments (Investment, Project Management, Leasing, Operations)
Ensure seamless integration of multi-disciplinary design inputs and timely resolution of design conflicts.
5. Budget, Resources & Performance Control
Manage design budgets and resource allocation to ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
Monitor design progress, deliverables, and performance KPIs across all projects.
Support contractor selection and design-related contract negotiations to minimize technical, financial, and legal risks.
6. Strategic Planning & Innovation
Contribute to corporate strategic planning and long-term product development vision.
Stay current with global design trends, emerging technologies, construction methods, and sustainability best practices.
Drive continuous improvement in design capability, tools, and processes.
7. Other Responsibilities
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Management.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience:
Minimum 15 years of experience in planning, design, or design management for large-scale developments (>50ha), including new urban areas, high-rise residential, townships, shopping malls, hotels, or resorts.
Prior experience with international design consulting firms or in design management roles for developers/investors is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in design and coordination software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent).
Language:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
