The Human Resources Director acts as an advisor and collaborator to the department leadership on all people/talent related aspects of the Hospitality business. She/he is expected to provide daily support to the division leaders/managers pertaining to people initiatives in alignment with BIM Group’s business strategy, ensures compliance with the Group’s policies, procedures, and systems along with local laws as well as ethical business practices.
She/he also interfaces with specialized HR functions to deliver quality HR services according to departmental and organizational goals and objectives.
She /he will be asked to undertake both tactical and strategic assignments that support areas of the business. Commercial oversight of the total cost of the workforce across BIM Hospitality is of relevance and an area to effectively manage.
This role oversees the workforce effectiveness of hotels & resorts and other BIM Hospitality related business units under BIM Group ownership and those operated by prestigious local, regional or international operators.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Advisory Services
- Advise leadership on issues related to people and change management, performance
improvement planning, employee experience enhancement as well as other workplace
matters.
- Provide HR solutions to aid business decision-making whereby a superior guest experience is often being asked within the hospitality business.
HR Planning
- Close collaboration within hospitality aligned businesses to administer workforce planning, ensuring the right talent is in place to meet business needs.
- Prepare and control headcount & HR budget of BIM Group’s HOS Division and consider future needs within the business aligned to growth patterns.
- Cooperate closely with GMs & HR Heads of the Hospitality estate ensuring the efficiency & effectiveness of their workforce.
- Where an operator is multi-managing business units ensure the most efficient structures are in place that support commercial realities and strong financial returns.
- Plan and implement HR initiatives and projects at department level to align with Hospitality’s annual and mid-range strategic priorities and the Group’s HR requirements.
Talent Management & retention
- Identify and develop talent, including establishing effective recruitment, training, and succession plans.
- The importance of developing local talent into mid and senior leadership roles remains a
clear and present focus.
- Managing Hospitality talent across business units is a focus as the estate expands and aligns with operators where BIM Hospitality has strategic partnerships.
- Forster the Corporate culture initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction, maintain healthy attrition and morale.
Performance Management:
- Manage the implementation of the Group’s performance management systems within HOS.
- Align performance metrics with organizational objectives to drive employee development and the organization productivity and financial efficiency.
Learning & Development
- Collaborates with Learning & Development Department to identify learning & development needs of staff; develop & implement plans to address career development and succession planning.
- Assess the merits and outcomes of resorts applying Forbes Travel Guide Star Rating Standards and adopt learnings to Hospitality business units.
HR administration champion:
- Administers various HR operations and procedures:
- Disseminates the Group‘s policies, regulations, and work procedures to employees, ensures compliance for the Group.
- Answers questions related to compensation & benefits, internal regulations & practices.
- Directs benefit questions to the appropriate area, answers general questions, acts as support and follow-up during open enrollment of new properties (hotels & resorts).
- Consults with and advises on employee relations/grievance issues.
- Manage disciplinary actions & dismissals, including performing thorough investigations when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree or above is required, with background in human resource management, laws, or related majors.
- Proven experience as a Human Resources Business Partner or a senior HR manager within the hospitality industry in medium to large organizations (>500 employees).
- Sound knowledge of workforce management, labor laws & practices.
- Excellent communication and people skills, capable of managing relationships with hotel operators, stakeholders, and staff.
- Proficiency in English and Vietnamese
