1. Compliance Framework:
- Regularly review update local compliance policies and/or procedures and training materials to reflect changes in regulations and/or organizational needs.
2. Trade Compliance Management:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international trade regulations and sanctions regimes relevant to the organization’s operations.
- Implement internal controls to prevent unauthorized exports and ensure adherence to embargoed countries and sanction and/or restricted parties list.
3. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct periodic risk assessments to identify compliance and privacy risks inherent in the organization's operations, processes, and systems.
- Monitor key risk indicators and performance metrics to proactively identify emerging compliance and privacy issues and take corrective actions as necessary.
4. Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs tailored to the needs of different employee roles and levels of responsibility.
- Provide ongoing education and awareness sessions on emerging compliance and privacy issues, regulatory changes, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of compliance and ethical conduct by promoting open communication channels and providing guidance and support to employees seeking clarification on compliance matters.
5. Monitoring and Reporting:
- Prepare regular compliance reports for senior management, corporate compliance highlighting key performance metrics, trends, and areas of concern.
- Investigate compliance incidents, breaches, and allegations of misconduct, and ensure timely reporting and resolution in accordance with internal investigation protocols and regulatory requirements.
6. Audit and Compliance Reviews:
- Review audit findings and recommendations, and work with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement action plans to address identified deficiencies and enhance compliance controls.
- Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and verify their effectiveness through follow-up audits and reviews.
- Implement Internal Control System according to “AC02 Directive on the Internal Control System (ICS)”.
- Performing internal controls for main functions of company (Accounting, Purchasing, IT, HR, Operations), customer audits (ISO, RBA) and compliance control to ensure risks are properly managed for Mekong Cluster (Vietnam, Thai Land, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos).
7. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, human resources, operations, and IT, to ensure alignment and coordination on compliance and privacy initiatives.
Serve as a subject matter expert on compliance and privacy matters, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders and external partners as needed.
- Bachelor degree in accounting, law, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in compliance, trade compliance or a related field in the same industry
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as anti-corruption laws, export controls, sanctions regimes.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organizations.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Working experience in the same position or/and in similar industry will be advantageous.
- Certification in CIA, CPA, CIPP/E, CIPP/A, CIPM is preferred.
