The duties and responsibilities of Student Affairs Officer include but is not limited to:
Develop and implement support services and resources, educational programs or trainings that promote mental health and well-being among students; To contribute to the development of web pages and online resources to support student health and wellbeing; To undertake and manage risk assessment of student, self and likely impact on others.
Provide individual counseling and support to students dealing with mental health challenges and psychological issues, those in crisis, to help them realize their potential during their time at the University; To collaborate with university colleagues with a focus on improving student retention and reducing barriers to success; To provide a daily drop-in service for students who require a range of mental health and wellbeing support;
Collaborate with campus resources and staff to coordinate mental health awareness campaigns, workshops, and events; To provide expert advice, support and relevant training for university staff on issues related to student mental health and wellbeing;
Undertaking assessment of student's mental health and emotional needs; Serve as a liaison between students and mental health professionals, and provide referrals to off-campus resources when necessary; To undertake outreach and build effective relationships with community services, health care providers, statutory services and specialist agencies; To work with internal/external statutory health care providers to promote healthy living campaigns;
Maintain confidential student records and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations;
Stay updated on current government regulations, policies, trends, and research in mental health, psychology, and well-being to inform program development and service delivery;
Prepare the reports, documents, statistics according to the related work area;
Organize other student events, activities if required.
Yêu Cầu Công Việc
1. Qualification: A master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
2. Experience: Minimum 2 years of working in providing counseling or mental health support services in higher education institutions.
3. Knowledge:
Knowledge and understanding of mental health issues affecting students;
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to mental health and counseling services.
4. Skills:
Fluent in both oral and written English, fluently use English in discussions/meetings and prepare English report;
Excellent in MS-Office softwares (Word, Excel, PPT,…);
Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
Good teamwork, problem solving;
Strong customer service skills, creative, initiative, can-do attitude.
5. Behaviours required:
High responsible and professional;
Open, willing to collaborate and learn new things;
Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
