General Requirements:
- BS, MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Material Science/Technology, or Industrial Engineering.
- 10+ years’ experience (including Design for Manufacturing) within the respective Engineering field.
- Highly successful new product development and introduction track record.
- Exposure to a multi-national hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to global design organizations.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Coaching and Mentoring skills.
- Technical leadership skills.
Specific Competency Require:
- Evaluate, select, and specify touchscreen technologies (capacitive, resistive, infrared, etc.) and materials (glass, film, coatings) suitable for specific application requirements.
- Conduct research and benchmarking to identify the best HMI solutions aligned with project specifications and customer needs.
- Develop comprehensive testing protocols to evaluate screen durability, responsiveness, readability, and overall user experience.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to integrate HMI components seamlessly into products.
- Optimize user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) designs to enhance usability, efficiency, and user satisfaction.
- Document specifications, test results, and validation reports clearly and accurately.
- Stay current on advancements in touchscreen technologies, materials innovations, and industry standards.
- Deep understanding of various touchscreen technologies, their applications, advantages, and limitations.
- Knowledge of screen materials, including durability, coatings, optical properties, and tactile response.
- Proven experience developing and implementing rigorous test procedures for touchscreen evaluation.
- Familiarity with UI/UX principles and proficiency in tools used to design and prototype interfaces.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information.
