JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Production Manager is responsible for leading and managing large-scale manufacturing operations across multiple production areas with diverse processes and product lines. This role is accountable for driving operational excellence, ensuring production targets are met, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The position demands strategic leadership, strong cross-functional collaboration, and deep expertise in managing complex production environments
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
1. Multi-Area Production Leadership
- Oversee several production focus areas (e.g., motor, battery pack, assembly, packaging, etc.).
- Ensure that each area meets its output, quality, and cost objectives while aligning with overall plant goals.
- Coordinate cross-functional resources and optimize plant-wide production planning.
2. Strategic Operations Management
- Develop and implement production strategies to support business objectives, volume growth, and capacity planning.
- Monitor key operational metrics and adjust plans to meet production efficiency and delivery targets.
- Lead business continuity and risk mitigation across production areas.
3. Workforce Leadership
- Lead and develop a large team of managers, supervisors, and frontline leader (1,000+ people).
- Foster a performance-driven culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and employee engagement.
- Ensure adequate staffing, training, and development across all focus areas.
4. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Champion Lean Manufacturing to drive the continuous improvement across production lines.
- Identify inefficiencies and lead initiatives to optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
- Drive digital transformation where applicable.
5. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all operations comply with quality standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Partner with QA & Safety to reduce defects and safety incidents.
- Promote a zero-escape, zero-incident mindset across all teams.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with cross functional team to align resources and resolve bottlenecks.
- Support New Product Development/ Transfer and scale-up of new lines or products.
- Cost control and budget adherence.
7. Reporting & Performance Management
- Prepare and present operational reports to senior leadership.
- Track and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) across each focus area.
- Use data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and performance improvements.
