1. JOB PURPOSE :
Lead the Operations team to ensure smooth handling of all shipments (Sea/Air) while leveraging pricing expertise to optimize cost, negotiate effectively with carriers, and support the Sales team in securing competitive deals.
2. JOB DESCRIPTION:
2.1 Operations Management
· Oversee daily operations of the forwarding team, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely shipment handling.
· Oversee staff performance, provide coaching, and take the lead in developing and implementing KPIs, offering an opportunity to build and practice this system from the ground up.
· Coordinate closely with Sales and Documentation teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
· Handle escalated issues with shipping lines, agents, and customers.
· Standardize and improve internal processes for efficiency and accuracy.
2.2 Pricing & Commercial Support
· Work directly with carriers, NVOCC, and overseas agents to obtain competitive rates. Types of goods accessed: Air cargo/ LCL/ Normal container/ Reefer container/ Special container FR, OT/ Bulk / RORO / DG.
· Provide strategic input on pricing decisions for key accounts and special projects.
· Compare multiple options (price, schedule, transit time, Dem/Det, space, equipment) and recommend optimal solutions.
· Support Sales team with accurate and timely quotations, especially for oversized/heavy cargo.
· Analyze market trends and propose short- and mid-term pricing strategies.
2.3 Team Leadership & Development
· Manage the CEA current operations team
· Build and expand the pricing function over the next 1–2 years, based on business performance and profit growth.
· Mentor and train team members on pricing, negotiation, and operations best practices.
· Coordinate with the HR department to design, implement, and directly deliver training programs.
2.4 Reporting & Systems
· Ensure accurate data entry into CEA system.
· Prepare monthly reports on shipment status, pricing performance, and cost savings.
· Work with management to align pricing/operations performance with company goals.
· Collaborate with management to define performance measurement standards and link them to KPI-driven bonus schemes.
3. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Maritime, Import-Export, or related fields.
· 5+ years of experience in operations (freight forwarding/logistics) with strong exposure to pricing
· Proven ability to manage teams and handle high-pressure situations
· Direct experience negotiating with carriers and managing oversized/heavy cargo is a plus.
· Training & Coaching Skills.
· Strong English communication skills (written & spoken).
· Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and leadership skills.
· Process improvement mindset
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics systems
