Summary Position: This position responsible for overseeing and managing all maintenance and repair activities of empty containers returned from consignees or Ports of Loading (POLs). This includes conducting container surveys, reviewing repair estimates, monitoring repair quality, and ensuring compliance with IICL and ISO standards. The role also focuses on cost control, cost recovery, allocation of liability for damages, timely reporting, and process improvement to ensure optimal container turnaround and utilization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inspection & Repair Oversight
Conduct surveys of empty containers and assess required repair work.
Review and approve repair cost estimations from depots or vendors.
Monitor and ensure repair quality meets IICL standards and company requirements.
2.Cost, Risk & Recovery Management
Strategically plan and manage repair activities in line with market trends.
Identify risks or errors in container inspections and repair estimates.
Ensure accurate allocation of repair costs to responsible parties (shipping line, consignee, vendor, or depot) based on inspection findings.
Support cost recovery initiatives by validating damage responsibility and providing accurate documentation to finance or claims teams.
Explore and implement opportunities for repair cost reduction without compromising quality.
3.Operations Coordination
Resolve issues or complaints related to damaged containers.
Collaborate with depots, vendors, and operations teams to minimize downtime.
Ensure timely redelivery of containers to meet customer and operational needs.
4. Performance & Reporting
Track KPIs including cost, productivity, timeliness, and accuracy of repairs.
Analyze repair data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
Prepare and submit accurate reports to management within required timelines.
Yêu Cầu Công Việc
Key Experience & Qualifications
Diploma or higher, preferably in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in container maintenance, repair, or depot operations.
IICL Certificate is strongly preferred.
Key Competencies & Skills
Good command of written and spoken English.
Good at MS Office (especially Excel)
Strong knowledge of container repair, survey, and cost allocation principles.
Proven experience in cost estimation, cost recovery, and vendor coordination.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Attention to detail with focus on accuracy, accountability, and timeliness.
