Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary
Performs required work for the projects and works closely with QE, ME and other departments to get the assigned work done accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities and authorities
1. Follow up projects from design to mass production release.
2. Follow up competitive benchmarking and a feasibility study.
3. Communicate with suppliers to confirm component specification, target cost and lead-time.
4. Follow up handmade samples and rapid prototyping.
5. Prepare 3D layout for ID to precede conceptual design.
6. Prepare 3D part drawing and detail 2D drawing, subassembly drawing, exploded view.
7. Performing dimensioning and tolerance calculations. Capable to apply geometric tolerance
dimensioning. Initiate documentation like BOM, ECO and SER.
8. Follow up tool plan, mold and die debugging. Evaluate the new part according to the
drawing.
9. Coordinate with PMC and purchasing to organize EB, pilot run.
10. Follow up reliability testing with QA laboratory.
11. Follow up safety approval with laboratory.
12. Keep product file as most updated.
13. Follow up continuous product improvement actions.

This position will be based in SHTP Factory, District 9, HCMC. Shuttle bus from District 1, 7, 10, 12/Go Vap/Binh Thanh, Binh Duong, Dong Nai is available.

Education
University Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Production or other related Engineering discipline or equivalent.
Experience
1. Minimum 2 years relevant experience in project follow up in the engineering industry. Working in power tools field is an advantage.
2. Experience in Gearbox system & Motor structure - especially in BLDC Motor is an advantage.
Knowledge
1. Good computer experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, email communication, 2D and 3D CAD.
2. Familiar with UG or Pro-E.
3. Familiar with application for safety approval such as UL, CSA, CE, BS, SAA
